STUDIES-DIG – kick-off meeting of a project to explore, design, and deliver innovative education

On 11 January 2024, C.School took part in the STUDIES-DIG project’s kick-off meeting organized and coordinated by the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) from Sofia, Bulgaria. The meeting’s goal was to mark the official start of the implementation of the Research & Innovation project Models and Instruments for Transforming Higher Education Systems through Transnational Multi-Sector Links (STUDIES-DIG).

The project, coordinated by the UNWE, is part of the Horizon Europe – the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2021-2027), under the funding scheme of Marie Sklodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange – RISE.

STUDIES-DIG will be implemented by an international and multi-sector consortium composed of academic and non-academic partners from Portugal, Romania, Turkey, Morocco, Egypt, and Bulgaria. For the next four years, the project will explore, design, and deliver innovative and context-sensitive solutions for transforming higher education systems in the digital era.

The C.School will provide the partnership with its extensive expertise in design thinking and systems thinking processes, as well as in instructional design in non-formal education for different types of learners, with a particular focus on young people and young adults.

In addition to the welcoming speeches by the representatives of UNWE, the kick-off meeting also included welcoming speeches by the Project Coordinator, Prof. Polya Katsamunska, an overview of the project by the Project Officer at REA, Mr. Adam Jacek Walendzik, and a short introduction by each project partner. The kick-off meeting ended with a panel discussion on organizational and managerial issues. The discussion was focused on the initial dissemination activities, the consortium governance structure, and the teams of researchers and staff members for each work package of the action. This fruitful kick-off meeting ended with a final decision for a face-to-face meeting of the Consortium Executive Board in Sofia, which will be hosted by UNWE in February 2024.
